Buhari’s honest leadership behind my defection to APC – Sherif

Former National Caretaker Committee Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff , has said he defected back to All Progressives Congress (APC) because he was satisfied with the honest leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sheriff , who spoken at a caucus meeting of the APC held at the Government House, Maiduguri at the weekend said he was fascinated with the honest and quality leadership of Buhari at the national level as well as the modest achievement of the party.
He added that he was also satisfied with the leadership style and performance of his successor, Governor Kashim Shettima, at the state level as well as impressed with the records of positive and physical achievements in the state .
The former governor further said that he joined the APC because he would like to partner with a winning and performing teams at the state and federal levels to contribute his quota to move the state and country forward. Sheriff had earlier appealed to all the supporters and members of APC to be united and forgive with one another, ahead of the 2019 general elections.
He urged all those interested in the governorship election to streamline their number and allow only a few that could peacefully go for primaries and if possible, to go for consensus candidate which will be better for the state and party.
He expressed his readiness to support anybody that the party will come up with as the candidate for the 2019 governorship election, pointing out that, his doors were always open for any politician that will be willing to serve the people.
