A group, National Democracy Stakeholders Group (NDSG), has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for their fight against corruption in the last two years.

Chief Executive of the group, Kletsaint Akor, said this at a national democracy solidarity walk for a Corruption-free Nigeria, yesterday in Abuja, as part of activities marking this year’s Democracy Day.
While commending the current administration for the courage in the anti-graft war, he cautioned the EFCC and other security agencies to play by the rule, adding that the court must be respected.

He said: “We are delighted that we have a government and an anti-graft agency that takes results seriously, rather than playing to the gallery. We have in our hands a situation where Nigerian workers work without being paid, roads are not fixed, contracts allocated to none existing companies, yet unbelievable sums of monies are being starched by selfish and greedy fellows who take delight to only in the pains and suffering of poor citizens.

How much longer can we continue to tolerate this?”
Akor urged the alignment of Nigerians and other bodies with the government, saying “we need all the cooperation and dedication of every single Nigeria citizen, especially with the whistle blower policy, to take ownership of the anti-graft agencies crusade.”
“It is by realigning with the government’s efforts that all our prayers, resources‎ and expectations will lead to a speedier recovery from the current economic woes in the country.”
