Buhari appoints Uchenna Chukwu DG NBTI 

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Mrs. Patricia Uchenna Chukwu as the substantive Director General/ Chief Executive Officer of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).

A press statement issued by the Head, Corporate Communications and Media of NBTI, Reuben Shagu, said the letter of appointment referenced FMSTI/HMOSTI/005/11 was dated May 10, 2023.

Until her appointment as the Director General, Dr. Chukwu was the Director of the South East Zonal of the Board. The new Chief Executive Officer also served as the Pioneer Centre Manager for the Technology Incubation Centre Nnewi for several years before becoming the Pioneer Zonal Director, NBTI South East.

Chukwu holds a PhD in Agriculture Extension from the Ebonyi State University; an MSc, MBA and PGD from Enugu State University as well as PGD in Technology Management. Her undergraduate study was in General Agriculture.

The new appointee is an expert in technology incubation programme in Nigeria and has championed the establishment of many technology incubation centres in many tertiary institutions across the country.

The statement credited the establishment of institutional technology incubation centre in the 3 popular Federal Polytechnics in Oko, Nekede and Affikpo to her efforts.

Dr Patricia Chukwu is a member of many professional bodies, including the National Business Incubator Network of America. She also belongs to 7 professional associations relevant to her profession. She has published 40 academic research publications and 11 patents to her credit.
