Team Nigeria will be with two of her key athletes at the 2023 World Athletics Championship begins in Budapest, Hungary as the duo of Godson Brume and Favour Ofili are conspicuously absent at the National Trials in Benin, Edo-state.
Prior to the start of the National Trial, the Athletics Federation Of Nigeria (AFN), has warned foreign athletes not to stay away from Benin or else they will not be registered for the World Championship.
AFN on Thursday disclosed that since the duo of Godson Brume and Favour Ofili failed to come to Benin they are not going to be part of the Budapest party.
Brume was said to have missed the flight four times an excuse the federation believed is not tenable.
“We are very strict about it,” the official said. “This is not the first time Godson Brume is doing this.
