Breaking: Yobe governor Buni appoints new emir of Gudi

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has approved the appointment of Hon. Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka as the new Mai Gudi Emirate.

In a statement by the secretary to Yobe state government, Baba Mallam Wali, and made available to Journalists in Damaturu by his press secretary, Shuaibu Abdullahi, revealed that the appointment follows the death of the late Emir, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Kaji,nafter a protracted illness.

According to the statement, His Royal Highness, the new Mai Gudi, was a member of the House of Representatives, Fika/Fune Federal Constituency, from 2011-2019.

“He served as Hon. Commissioner in the Yobe state government from 2007-2010. He is the Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal College of Education, Yawuri, Kebbi state, from 2024 to date.

“He is also the Chairman of the Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee from 2024 to date. As a banker by profession, he had served in both UBA and Standard Trust Bank, where he rose to the position of Business Manager.

“He was also holding the traditional title of Yariman Gudi until his appointment on Saturday,” he said.
