Breaking: Gunmen kidnap traditional ruler’s wife, daughter in Oyo

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen Monday night kidnapped the wife and daughter of a traditional ruler in Oyo state, the Baba Aso of Igbole town, Igboora, Oba Olusanjo Ojo.

 It was learnt that the king’s wife, identified as Olori Funbi Ojo and her daughter were returning from the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, OYSCATECH, Igboora, where the woman is the matron of the institution’s health facility.

Sources said the Olori and her daughter were kidnapped by the suspected herdsmen around Keji Abra farm, Igbole area of Igboora around 8:15 pm last night when the kidnappers attacked their vehicle on their way backhome.

Another person in the car said to be the son of the king and was driving the car said to be bullet-ridden after the gunmen however escaped from being kidnapped by the suspected herdsmen

As at the time of filling this report, it was gathered that vigilante groups within and around the town have combed all the bushes in search of the kidnapped King’s wife and daughter  to rescue the victims.

Sources stressed that the kidnappers are yet to contact either the palace or  the family of the kidnapped persons  telephone concerning the Olori and her daughter .

Oyo state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawrence Fadeyi while confirming the report disclosed that Oyo state Police Command  have been intensified efforts towards  rescuing the kidnapped King’s wife and her daughter from their abductors.
