Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has reportedly died.
Though his family is yet to formally announce it, one of Arase’s aides confirmed the latest development to blueprint.ng.
Arase, Nigeria’s 18th Inspector-General of Police, was appointed in April 2015 by then-President Goodluck Jonathan. He retired from the Force in 2016 but continued to serve the country in different capacities.
In January 2023, under former President Muhammadu Buhari, he was appointed Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), a position he held until June 2024, when President Bola Tinubu relieved him of the role.
