He urged the participants to be very attentive and bridge up the knowledge gap in the compliance and sanctions surrounding money laundering prevention and prohibition compliance mechanism which is necessitated by  the need for smooth and  standard transactions  and operations of the CSOs.

“We are especially honoured to be hosting this event in collaboration with the EFCC, Borno state directorate, an institution that continues to play pivotal role in strengthening transparency and accountability in our country.

“This workshop is timely and necessary. As civil society actors, we are increasingly operating in a space that requires not only commitment to service but also high standards of integrity, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations.

“Understanding the risks of money laundering and our responsibilities in reporting suspicious transactions is critical not only for institutional sustainability but also for national security and public trust.

“Today’s engagement offers us a unique opportunity to deepen our understanding, ask questions, and align our organisational practices with national anti-corruption frameworks.

“I urge all participants to take full advantage of the presentations and discussions that will follow. At this junction, let me appreciate all those who made this programme possible with their generosity and commitment.

“Of particularly important are CATAI, for covering almost the complete budget line drawn for this important training. Permit me to also mention other reliable allies for the Network such as CENSCOPE, PACHE, and LABDI. These partners equally contributed to making this gathering possible and we say thank you,” Abiso said.
