The Borno state APC stakeholders meeting ended up in disagreement weekend as some strong APC stalwarts criticised the leadership of the party while others could not show absolute loyalty and support.
The over three hours, APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House Multi Purpose Hall, Maiduguri, comprising former and serving state governors, deputy governors, senators, house of representatives members, state House of Assembly members, LGC chairmen, party executives at the local, state and national levels from Borno state was characterised by criticisms and lamentations.
The meeting was organised purposely to discuss and iron out some critical and crucial party issues that are significant to the party survival and progress.
Some stakeholders couldn’t hide their feelings and anger with the system of governance and leadership of the party, calling for unity, and that members should be carried along as the 2027 campaigns and general elections are fast approaching.
The Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, in his opening address appreciated all and sundry as well as the contributions and the role played by each of the party members at both the local, state and national levels, while soliciting for more support and cooperation from everybody.
Zulum thanked all for show of solidarity and support to his administration and party leadership in state and national levels while acknowledging the support and contributions of the federal government to the state including the security agencies for their bravery and efforts.
