Board releases 2015 Hajj fares

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has released its approved Hajj fare for this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
A statement from the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu, disclosed that the minimum fare this year is N785, 178.40 only, while the medium seat goes for N825, 178.40 only.
The statement said this year the board has no maximum category in its Hajj fare.
He stated that intending pilgrims from the territory for this year’s operation had up to Friday, July 17, 2015, to balance their fare or lose the seat.
The spokesperson explained that the measure had become necessary to enable the board meet up with the deadline for the balance of payment for this year’s Hajj fare to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Similarly, the statement warned intending pilgrims “who are yet to submit their completed application forms and e-passports to do so before the deadline or have themselves to blame.”
He said the warning became necessary as the board would soon commence the process of acquiring visa from the Saudi Arabian embassy in Abuja.
The spokesperson disclosed that the board has set machineries in motion towards successful Hajj operation.
He said the board had since acquired accommodation in Makkah very close to the Holy Mosque to enable the pilgrims from the territory perform their five daily prayers in Haram with less stress.
According to him, “in order to enable the intending pilgrims get value for their money, the board would conduct the 3rd phase of its education and orientation exercise on 25th and 26th of this month at the hajj camp.”
He, therefore, advised intending pilgrims to avail themselves with the opportunity as new policies on the exercise as well as arrangements for the spiritual journey would be taught during the orientation exercise.
