BMO predicts rosy 2020 for Nigerians

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has predicted a rosy 2020 for the country as the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is poised to deliver many key and life-impacting projects to Nigerians.

Reviewing the many achievements of the administration in the area of infrastructure, the group noted that based on Buhari’s promise, some of the major projects to come on stream this year include 47 road projects across the country among which are roads leading to the country’s ports.

In a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke, Thursday in Abuja, the group said other projects scheduled for completion are major bridges, including attaining substantial work on the second Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra state.

“We also note that the federal government will complete rehabilitation works on the Enugu, Lagos, Kano and Maiduguri international airports this year, and this has the potential of boosting foreign direct investments as well as opening up the country for tourism.

“It is also worthy of note that the Federal Government will launch the agricultural mechanization scheme in 700 local government areas of the country which will greatly boost food production. Similarly, the administration will commence the training of 50,000 workers to complement the country’s 7000 extension workers.

“The commissioning of the Lagos-Ibadan and Itakpe-Warri rail lines as well as the commencement of the Ibadan-Abuja and Kano rail lines in the first quarter of this year will not only revive the railway sector substantially but will open up communities along the corridors”.

According to the group, in a bid to address the perennial power problems in the country, the Buhari administration will this year commence work on the Mambilla power project and further liberalise the sector to enable businesses generate and sell power to the consuming public.

“Apart from all these major projects which will come on stream this year, it is pertinent to state that the construction of the AKK gas pipeline, OB3 gas pipeline and the expansion of the Excravos-Lagos pipeline will begin in the first quarter of 2020.

“From the foregoing, there is no doubt that the Buhari administration is focused on changing the narrative in the area of project execution and completion. Under this administration, the practice of abandoning critical infrastructure or not awarding them at all is not condoned and Nigerians will be the ultimate beneficiaries.

“We therefore look forward in the year with great hope that Nigerians will have cause to smile based on the Buhari administration’s commitment to addressing the myriad of infrastructural challenges in the country”.
