Bloodbath as gunmen kill, kidnap security men, others in Anambra

Gunmen reportedly went on rampage at Nnewi, Anambra state, killing and kidnapping about six persons, including a security officer.

Blueprint gathered that the incidents which happened Sunday and Monday, respectively, left some persons critically injured and hospitalised.

Some trending videos revealed that one of those killed at Nnewichi in Nnewi, Nnewi North local government area, was a security chief identified as Chieloka, while others were either abducted or killed after exchanging guns fire with the hoodlums at  neighbouring Nnobi community in  Idemili South LGA.

A source told Blueprint that another victim was conveyed to a nearby hospital in a wheelbarrow having been shot in the stomach.

The source added that ,”Gunmen went on rampage in Nnewi and Nnobi, neighbouring towns, shooting and killing vigilantes and people going about their businesses. They are also believed to have abducted some people.”

Another source told Blueprint that three men, including a titled chief was killed at Awka, the state capital by gunmen believed to be cult boys.

However, the Police Public Relations (PPRO), Anambra state command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, who could not confirm the story, reported that the operatives have arrested one Mr. Felix Owaya, aged 48.
