Benue: Unite for victory, CSOs beckon stakeholders, back Alia, finance commissioner

The Benue Development Movement (BDM) has publicly commended the administration of Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia for it’s commitment and dedication to the welfare of the people within just two years in office.

The group in a goodwill message signed by it’s President Dr Raymond Oduma to mark 2025 workers day, specifically highlighted the milestones recorded under the leadership of the governor.

“Today is a special day for workers and Benue workers have indeed demonstrated total support for the governor in recognition of his administrations priority for workers welfare,” the group said.

The group highlighted that prompt payment of salaries and pension remains the most important way to connect with the civil servants and called on the people of the state to rally round the governor for effective implementation the full vision of the governor.

The group further attributed the successes of the Alia administration to the collective responsibility of some of his appointees who have so far demonstrated a clear understanding of the governors vision for the state.

The group noted with satisfaction the footprints of the Hon Commisioner for finance, Hon Micheal Oglegba, who has been proactive, commited and resourceful in the implementation of the administration vision for the state.

“For Hon Oglegba, loyalty is measured best through unblemished implementation of the governors vision for the people.

“A philosophy that he has maintained since assumption of office as Commissioner for finance,” the group said.

The group commended the finance commissioner for his prominent roles in building grassroots support for the governor across all zones particularly the Benue South senatorial district.

“Hon Oglegba’s goodwill and vast contact with the people is worth commending,” the group stated.

The group while passing a vote of confidence in the administration the called on other appointees and stakeholders who believe in the vision of Fr. Dr. Alia to take good example so as to consolidate on the modest achievements of the governor.

The group called for unity among workers and the political leadership for sustained development.
