Benue state governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has strongly condemned the brutal killing of two Kano state indigenes by suspected criminals in an outskirt settlement along the Makurdi – Lafia way in Makurdi local government area.

In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, made available to newsmen Wednesday in Makurdi, the governor described the killings as “barbaric and unacceptable” and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

The statement said five suspects have already been arrested by the Benue state Police command, following Governor Alia’s directive to security agencies to ensure the swift arrest of those responsible.

The victims, who were reportedly passing through the state, were targeted and murdered in what the governor called a “heinous crime” against innocent Nigerians.
