Beach Soccer League: Anambra Warriors win 2 games in 2 matches 

Debutant Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors started the 2024 season of Nigeria Beach Soccer League in flying colours by defeating Jigawa GS BSC by 5-1 in the curtain raiser of the first round, holding at Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state.

The team captain, Chinweze Gabriel drew the first blood, inform Stanley Ekwo extended the lead and gave the Warriors 2 goal lead into the second period. Jigawa GS BSC reduced the deficit  minutes into the second period through Abas Senior.

The Warriors replied immediately through Kennedy Amoke whose shoot was unstoppable , Emeka Ogbona scored his first goal to extend the  lead to 4-1.

Jigawa GS BSC had opportunity to reduce the deficit through penalty but our goalkeeper Chibuike Mbakogu made  a double save to maintain our advantageous lead to end the 2nd period 4-1.

The last goal of the game actual became the last kick of the game in the 3rd period, Emeka Ogbona located Stanley Ekwo who delightfully slot in his second goal to end the game 5-1 in favour of Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors. 

In the second game played on  11th April 2024, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors came out victoriously against host team, Kebbi United BSC by 3-0.

The first period produce no goals but it was Kebbi United BSC that had the upper hand, our defence line  marshalled by Ekujumi Egan osi Fayowole and Chinweze Gabriel stood strong and preventing Kebbi United BSC from taking the lead.

Miracle Momah Costa gave us the lead in the second period  with a brilliant finish. The scoreline remained unchanged till the 3rd period.

Two goals from Ekwo Stanley,  one from open play and the other from spot kick  cemented the  3-0 win for the Warriors.

The Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors has 3 more games to play in the round one of NBSL 2024 before the second round resume next month in Anambra  state.
