The Bayelsa judiciary in collaboration with the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Tuesday, dedicated year 2024 to God at the judiciary complex.

The dedication took place at the multi-door court, located in the premises of the Bayelsa judiciary.

Blueprint gathered that the dedication event had been sustained for the past three years.

In her welcome address, the Bayelsa state Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Ayemieye, commended CAN for coming up with the idea which has been sustained for years.

She said, “I want to thank the Chairman and members of CAN for coming up with this programme, there is nothing we can do but dedicate our lives to God.”

She said she would ensure that all work and cling to what is good and shun what is evil, for the sake of God and mankind.

The CJ said all should do good in the sight of all men, and not to take vengeance but allow God to do that on their behalf.

Pastor Justice Tamadu Abasi, taking his Bible reading from Hebrew 12: 1 he said “The most difficult thing in life is focus, which is one the problems of man. Without faith and focus one may hardly succeed. When one removes his eyes from God he’s gone.

“The closer you get to God the more your life will flourish. All you need to do is focus on God, everything in this world will be added to you,” he said.

On his part, chairman of the Bayelsa state chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Temekori Derikebamoh, expressed gratitude to CAN for putting together the event.

He urged them to also extend it to other ministries, agencies and parastatals, saying it’s always good to start the year with God as one who watches over all men and their affairs.
