Baptist Convention seeks probe of Plateau attack

The Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), in a statement by its spokesman, Rev. Eben Durodola, has called for immediate intervention by security agencies on the massare in Plateau communities.

The statement quoted president of the group, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, as expressing distress regarding the situation.

“We are saddened by the continued killing of worshippers like chicken in Plateau State and other parts of the country,” he stated.

It called on President Tinubu to as a matter of urgency provide necessary security to all Nigerians and bring an end to the wanton killings in parts of the country.

In a sober recount of the events, Akanji explained that the militias decided to strike during the yuletide celebration.

He urged the security agencies to provide needed security to every Nigerian and put a stop to the senseless killings.

Akanji called on fellow Christians to “wake up and provide assistance to those who lost their relations and those who were wounded in the attack and are currently in the hospital.

“We have had high levels of insecurity in the country for the past years without any meaningful solution from the security agencies,” Rev. Akanji lamented, emphasizing the urgent need for action. (Premium Times)
