Bandits kill 4, injure 2 in Zamfara

No fewer than 4 people have been killed by the suspected unrepentant bandits in Garagin Jidda village of Talata Mafara Local Government of Zamfara state.


Resident of the area in a Telephone interview with Blueprint said, the Bandits invaded the village at around 12:00 am of today Sunday numbering to over 50 in motorcycles and open fire on the villagers.


According to him, two persons were seriously injured during the attack and have already taken to Gusau for urgent treatment, adding that several cows were rustled by the Bandits belonging to the community during the attack.


He said, already the body of the deceased four persons have been burried in Mayanchi town today according to Islamic injunction.


The resident called on Federal and Zamfara state governments to come to the rescue of the Communities from the Bandits attacks by reinforcing more troops in the area for peace to thrive.


Blueprint reports that Zamfara State Government under the leadership of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has introduced peace reconciliation process with Bandits group and several of them repented as many arms and ammunition have been handed over to the state government within the last one year of the peace process.


However, effort to reach the state police command public relations officer Sp Muhammad Shehu by our Correspondent proved abortive while compiling the report.
