A group has reportedly invaded Wusasa area in the outskirt of Zaria city in Zaria local government area of Kaduna and kidnapped a health worker of Missionary Health Facility, St. Luke’s Anglican Hospital, owned by Wusasa Diocese of Anglican Communion, Church of Nigeria, Mr. Yushau Peter, and his brother, Joshua Peter.
Narrating the incident, a leader in the area, Mr Isyaku Ibrahim, said his domain had witnessed bandits’ attacks in the past.
He stated that the bandits stormed the area and whisked them away around 9pm last Friday.
He pointed out that the bandits shot sporadically into the air to disperse people in the community.
He added that the bandits had broken into the captive’s residences in the past and killed his aged father, Mr Adamu, and kidnapped his son who spent some months in captivity.
Mr. Ibrahim further stated that it was in his domain that a university don, Professor Aliyu Mohammed, was abducted.
Attempts to reach Kaduna state police command spokesman, DSP Mohammed, for comment on the incident was unsuccessful as his mobile phone was switched off as of the time of filing this report.
