A former southeast spokesman to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Denge. Dr. Josef Onoh, has categorically dismissed a circulating letter allegedly from Mohammed Babangida, declining an appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA).
Onoh labeled the purported letter as a fabrication by “desperate political characters”.
According to Onoh, “this malicious act is a clear attempt to ridicule the current administration and tarnish the impeccable character of Mohammed Babangida, whom he described as a man known for his decency and integrity.
“It is disheartening that such individuals would stoop to this level, likely out of disappointment that our administration has chosen a qualified and honorable individual over the looters and opportunists they represent.”
He added that Mohammed Babangida’s reputation remains firm and expressed trust in the administration’s wisdom to appoint capable leaders for national progress.
Onoh further emphasised that the current administration remains committed to its transformative agenda and that such “cheap tactics will not deter our progress.”
He sarcastically suggested that these “idle political actors” should “prepare more fake letters of decline for the numerous appointments the President will announce in the coming days since their joblessness has clearly left them with little else to do but wallow in hopelessness.”
