APC youths urge Buhari to reshuffle cabinet, constitute boards

A political pressure group of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the APC National Youth Mandate, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to, as a matter of urgency, reshuffle his cabinet, sack heads of MDAs of the previous administration and constitute federal boards.
In a statement jointly issued yesterday in Abuja by its National Coordinator, Comrade Adamu Abdullahi, and the National Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Maria Aloko, the group expressed concern that “considering the current economic woes and the implication of President Buhari’s slow reaction to the economic issues, it’s now obvious that the President is helpless and focus-less, lacking technocrats and capable hands in his cabinet that will help the nation out of the current economic recession.”

It, therefore, declared that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari had failed to carry the Nigerian youth along, adding that the practice of “use and dump” of the youth after each election should be stopped forthwith, saying that it was counter-productive.
The statement read in part: “There is this saying that the youth are leaders of tomorrow but in Nigeria today, the tomorrow seems endless. After all we are leaders of today not tomorrow because we have waited long enough and this tomorrow remains an elusive business. “It is my opinion that the youth be given the opportunity to serve in leadership positions especially by this government because of the role we played in ensuring victory during the last election. Yet we are clouded, therefore the imbalance needs to be corrected in order to build next generation of leaders.”
