In a remarkable show of compassion and leadership through service, the deputy national women leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) and chairperson of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, has organised a free medical outreach to mark her birthday by bringing healthcare directly to the APC National Secretariat staff in Abuja.
The outreach, held on August 6, 2025, focused on screening of Blood Pressure (BP) and Fasting Blood Dugar (FBS), two vital indicators in the prevention of hypertension and diabetes.
APC staff members benefited from on-site testing, medical consultations and personalised health advice.
This impactful initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda which prioritises accessible, preventive and people-centered healthcare as a cornerstone of national development.
Under the Renewed Hope Health Strategy, the administration seeks to promote wellness, early detection and disease prevention across all levels of society.
“This outreach is my humble contribution to that vision. Our president’s Renewed Hope Agenda reminds us that a healthy nation begins with healthy citizens. This is a responsibility we all share, and I am happy to play my part,” she said.
She further added that, “As the chairperson of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe and as a servant of this great party, I feel doubly responsible to lead by example. We must cultivate a culture where health is prioritised and access is widened especially among our staff and grassroots supporters.”
APC staff expressed heartfelt appreciation for the programme, describing it as timely and thoughtful.
Also, they commended Hajiya Zainab for choosing to mark her birthday through such a selfless act that combines her roles in both politics and healthcare.
The outreach further underscores her commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians, especially within the APC family and her continued efforts to bridge healthcare access gaps using her dual influence in governance and medical leadership.
