A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Mohammed Kudu Santuraki (Santurakin Nupe), has lauded Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for launching Bida’s 20-year Development Plan.

This was contained in a statement signed by  Santuraki, the  Secretary-General of Niger-South Senior Stakeholders’ Forum (NSSF) and made available to journalists.

According to him, the bold initiative is a significant milestone in the quest for sustainable urban growth, economic advancement, and social inclusion.

“Development plans of this nature are the hallmark of serious governance. They provide a strategic roadmap to transform our cities from centres of potential into engines of prosperity and modern living.

“Bida, with its deep historical roots, cultural significance, and population strength, deserves a structured path to progress. The unveiling of this long-term plan signals renewed hope for infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, enhanced social services, and private sector engagement across the town,” he said.

Santuraki express gratitude to Governor Bago for “demonstrating foresight, inclusion, and commitment to the future of Bida.”

“I also extend my best wishes for the judicious and transparent implementation of the development plan in a manner that reflects the aspirations of our people,” he said.
