A chieftain of the All Peoples Congress (APC) in Kano state, Dr. Adamu Danjuma Isah Bakin Wapa, has admonished the newly elected local government chairmen in the 44 councils to consider accountability and trust as their major cardinal thrust, saying that it was by upholding trust that the electorate would have an unfettered confidence on them.
In a press statement, Bakin Wapa said “the present political dispensation in the country has taken a heavy toll on those who had made wrong calculations in voting the wrong people into power,” stressing that the most greedy political elite were only concerned about the business of amassing an ill-gotten wealth.

He said all that democracy entailed was service to humanity and the ability of one to live above board, adding that it was high time for the political elite to respect the rule of law and the known indices of real politicking.
He said: “As newly local government chairmen, it is an abiding responsibility on you to emulate the good example of Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in upholding public trust; you should know that you would be made to account for your deeds in the hereafter.”
Bakin Wapa, who is also the chairman Kawau Sumaila 2015 Campaign Network, stated that Kwankwaso’s administrative capability and gut in safeguarding the public purse was what endeared him to the electorate, stressing that Kawu Sumaila as a legislator had also proved his worth on the floor of the National Assembly.
