Ekiti state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed concern over incessant attacks on its members by suspected Labour Party thugs.
Chairman of the party, Chief Jide Awe, declared that his members may resort to self-help if  the police fail to curtail the alleged persistent siege on members of the party.

Speaking at a press conference in Ado Ekiti on the lingering crisis between the two parties in the last two weeks, Awe alleged  that aside from the attack, property worth several millions of naira belonging to APC have been destroyed by LP members during attacks on the party in Ipole Iloro, Aramoko, Okemesi, Ikogosi  and Erinjiyan Ekiti, all in Ekiti West Local Government Area of the state

However,  the LP governorship candidate in the state, Hon Opeyemi Bamidele, had told newsmen in Okemesi Ekiti on Wednesday that himself and party members, including his supporters are being persecuted by the APC for daring to contest against Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Awe revealed that the party is compiling the litany of attacks it has suffered in the hands of the LP in recent time with intention to write a petition to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Felix Uyana, for necessary actions.
