And D’banj says yes to Tonto Dikeh’s music career

When Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh declared her ambition to venture into singing about two years back, almost everyone thought it a bad idea begging her to stick to her acting career.
Even before the song was released, Tonto got the criticism of her life. However, the actress rode on the wave of the tumultuous public attack to become the most downloaded Nigerian artiste so far in one week. We all downloaded her song out of curiosity even though most people didn’t finish listening before deleting it, however the ‘i-dont-care’ actress kept smiling to the bank and stayed in the news even more than the so called ‘real’ musicians.
This week, ‘Tonto-haters’ got another blow behind belt when D’banj announced that he had officially signed her to his record label DB Records.

Now isn’t that interesting that amidst the hates and while many artistes that the public would call ‘good artiste’ are still looking for a record label, the ‘wack’ one of Africa’s biggest stars D’banj is banking on Tonto Dikeh?
“Is D’banj out of his mind?” Is the question everyone is asking, however whether this union between him and Tonto Dikeh will yield desirable fruit is left for time to tell.
