Aminu Nyako’s sedulous efforts to the success of Social Investment Programmes

Mallam Aminu Nyako is the special assistant on Social Investment Programmes to Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister for humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development.

His  commitment from the time he assumed office cannot be overlooked. Aside from his loyalty to the Minister, Aminu has also adopted a way  of going the extra mile to ensure   that he does not fail in his responsibilities .

His   faithfulness to Sadiya started when she was the Federal Commissioner national commission for refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons where he was assisting her in  legislative matters at the national assembly, particularly the Senate.

Aminu then was the senior legislative aide to Senator Abdulaziz Nyako who was the Chairman Senate committee on special duties and Refugees commission was under   special duties committee.

That was when he did everything possible for the Minister to succeed in her assignment in the Senate.  Most at times during budget defense, he makes sure that the necessary things were put in place for the smooth conduct of the budget hearing. He assisted on the IDP act that needed to be amended by the Senate. In such he served as a liaison between her and the national assembly.

When she was made Minister, she then appointed Aminu as her special assistant on social investment programmes.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Aminu’s tireless efforts was  immeasurable as he dedicated much time to the office in other to ensure  that equitable distribution of resources to the vulnerable was carried out across board.

As a goal getter and an entrepreneur, he makes sure that things are done properly and perfectly before leaving office even when the Minister is not there.

The young man in his early thirties obtained his bachelor and masters degree in one of the prestigious Universities in the United States where worked briefly at the Capitol Hill as an economic management officer before coming back to Nigeria.                            On arrival, he alongside some friends formed an ICT company known as ‘Louer group’ using the digital age to provide digital solutions to individuals and corporate organizations.

Aminu has being a hard working person right from time as noticed even when he was made the senior legislative aide to Senator Abdulaziz Nyako; his elder brother were he became part of the engine room for the success and achievements of Senator Nyako’s legislative  projects in the 8th assembly..                                                                       The “Not Too Young To Run” bill that was signed into law within months by President Muhammadu Buhari, and regarded as the fastest bill to get presidential assent in recent time was the brain child of Aminu.

When Sadiya was nominated   as a Minister for humanitarian affairs, a new ministry created by President Buhari to provide succor to the vulnerable population including children, youths and women, it generated a lot of criticism and sectional interest as to whether she would be able to handle the job perfectly.

Aminu, alongside others, briefed Nigerians of her capability to perform better because she did very well while serving as Federal Commissioner, national commission for refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons. The plight of IDPs was well taking care of. Not long after that, the Minister disappointed the naysayers who underrated her capabilities.

It is on record that Sadiya Farouq has performed beyond expectations. Within a very short time, she has silenced her critics by implementing some life touching programmes such as the conditional cash transfer, palliatives to cushion the effect of hardship caused by covid-19 pandemic and the school feeding programme.

In fact the Minister is altruistic in piloting the affairs of the ministry, which can be seen as a blaze of publicity from the newspapers, magazines, televisions, radio stations, online media and social media on daily basis.

Before the registration of  Batch C Npower  programme, Aminu  partook in the campaign programme as he  was involved in briefing the media in areas they needed clarification, hence he was the special assistant  on SIP. He granted interviews to print, electronic and online media, he was also invited as guest on NTA programme over the   Batch A and B disengagement and the enrolment of Batch C. All in a bid to diffuse the information to ordinary Nigerians.

He has been very careful in his approach to issues particularly in his choice of words when dealing with journalists on issues relating to the ministry.

Such that, he has being declining interviews from press men who needed his attention on SIP. He does that not because he is not capable of talking but he carefully does not want to drag the office of a spokesperson and that of his own.

Aminu is a quiet, gentle, and kindhearted man who devotes his time in helping the needy and getting results.

He is very accommodative to rank and file and also reaches out to people In their area of their needs. Besides he is an epitome of humility with much wisdom that can be seen in his philosophical analysis of life. He has been helpful to relatives, friends and associates,  Aminu is  not  a politicians  but friends and associates are beaconing on him to contest election, so that they will support him to win  because of his excellent qualities. He has done  a lot for his people at home by drilling boreholes to  communities in his village and many more.

He believes in getting things done to the less privileged people like his father.

Born into the family of a philanthropists and an advocate of the masses Vice admiral Murtala Nyako, Aminu  is happily married with children.
