Ambassador Ibeto dumps APC

Nigeria Ambassador to South Africa, Hon. Ahmed Musa Ibeto has decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger state.
With him yesterday were seven serving members of the state House of Assembly and over 2000 members of APC that are ready to defect to the opposition party with him.
Ibeto made triumphant entry into Kontagora area of Niger north senatorial distract yesterday and rode in a long convoy to obtain PDP membership card from his Ibelu ward in Magama local government area of the state.
The PDP zone C chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi who welcomed the Ambassador back to PDP told journalists in an interview that the defection of the Ambassador was home coming because he was a stalwart of PDP as a deputy governor before he left for APC before the 2015 general election.
He hinted on the plan and willingness of all supporters of Ambassador Ibeto who followed him out of PDP during the 2015 electioneering campaigns in the state to return to the fold of the umbrella very soon.
Speaking on the value the return of Ibeto will add to the 2019 election fortune of PDP, the zonal chairman said it will not only enhance the acceptability of the party in Niger state but also at the national level of the party considering the fact that he is a serving Ambassador of President Mohammedu Buhari.
He declined to comment on the believe that Musa Ibeto was back to the PDP to pursue his governorship ambition that was thwarted in 2015 by the administration in which he was serving as deputy governor, a development that led to his defection to the APC.
