The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado Mohammed, has commended the president for his on-going financial reforms and fiscal discipline.

This, according to him, was demonstrated during the screening of Ms. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran, the newly appointed Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom) by the Senate.

Senator Lado gave the commendation in Abuja Friday as contained  in a  statement signed by an Assistant Director in his office, Ememmaria Offiong.

He  said screening of Oloworaran by the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service for the position of PenCom DG highlighted President Tinubu’s “unalloyed commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s financial institutions, curbing leakages, and boosting revenue flows to accelerate national development.”

“President Tinubu’s vision of appointing capable and highly qualified individuals to key positions in critical financial institutions remains central to his administration’s broader agenda of enhancing fiscal discipline.

“Under Ms. Oloworaran’s leadership, PenCom is expected to further the administration’s objectives of ensuring financial transparency and accountability, while safeguarding pension funds, and advancing sustainable pension reforms for the benefit of all Nigerians,” he said.

He also commended the president for appointing 21 nominees as commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

“President Tinubu’s selection of these highly qualified appointees underscores his commitment to ensuring that only competent individuals with the requisite expertise are entrusted with managing Nigeria’s critical financial institutions.

“Their leadership will be pivotal to improving revenue generation and allocation processes, thereby ensuring that public resources are managed efficiently and transparently for the benefit of all citizens.”
