Agosto out to stop in-form TP Mazembe

C.D Primeiro de Agosto are set to take on TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League Group A match at Estádio 11 de Novembro on Friday.
Kick-off is at 6:00 pm CAT.
The Angolan champions recorded their maiden defeat in the group stage when they were beaten 2-0 by Egyptian giants Zamalek away earlier this month.

The defeat left Agosto placed fourth on the Group A standings – two points behind second Zamalek with four matches left.
Dragan Jovic, the Agosto head coach, has made it clear that they are taking it one game at a time in this year’s competition.
“We hope to do better than in the previous participation,” Jovic was quoted as saying on Journal de Angola.

“The first step is to reach the next phase.”
Meanwhile, Mazembe maintained their great start to the group stage campaign by defeating Zambian champions ZESCO United 2-1 away earlier this month.
The win saw the DR Congolese champions remain at the top of the Group A standings – three points clear of second-placed Zamalek.

Mazembe striker Jackson Muleka, whose brace inspired the Ravens to a win over ZESCO, is happy with the fact that he is now scoring goals away from home in the competition.
“I am happy with my performance, but especially with the collective game,” Muleka told the media.
“I will not forget this meeting because it is the first time that I score away in the Champions League.”
Agosto and Mazembe played to a 1-1 draw in their last competitive meeting which was the 2018 Champions League quarterfinal second-leg clash in DR Congo.
