The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has handed Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe an indefinite suspension following allegations that she physically assaulted a crew member on a movie set.
According to reports, Igwe slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) during a production, a move the AGN described as unacceptable and damaging to the image of the profession.
In a statement sent to its national and state chapter leaders, the Guild cited “violence and indiscipline” as grounds for the suspension, emphasizing that such conduct undermines the integrity of the film industry.
The Guild also instructed all members to steer clear of any film project involving Igwe while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
