Disturbed by the planned national protest against APC-led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tunubu, over untold hardships, the Adamawa state chapter of the All progressives congress (APC), has held stakeholder’s meeting to drum support for the president with a view to averting the protest in the state.
Addressing the gathering which included wards excos, party groups, state assembly members, party elders and other stakeholder’s Wednesday in Yola, Adamawa APC chairman, Barrister, Idris Shuaibu said the planned national protest was being championed by the opposition to destabilise the APC-led administration.
He urged party stakeholder’s in the state at all levels, to go back to their wards and units to educate their people on the danger of participating in this so-called protest and the benefits of Bola Tinubu’s economic policies which aimed at salvaging the future of the country.
According to him, those who are against the present administration and its policies conceived in the best interest of Nigeria should wait to 2027 election and express themselves through the ballot rather than seek to destroy the government for their selfish political interest.
Shuiabu further noted that Tinubu’s administration had done well so far, with so many successes recorded, especially, in the area of granting financial autonomy to local governments.
This, he said, was capable of fastracking development at the grassroots with the youth standing to benefit immensely hence the need for all hands to be on deck and support the administration.
The chairman also added that President Tinubu had the interest of Adamawa people at heart as could be clearly seen in the appointments of some citizens of the state into sensitive positions such as Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Advicer, Prof.Mamman Tahir as Minister of Education, among other appointees, hence the need for them to support the President and his administration.
Also speaking, the state secretary of the party, Dr.Raymond Chidama, said the removal of fuel subsidy by the present administration which was only beneficial to some privileged few had become inevitable if the future of Nigerians must be safeguarded hence its removal by the President.
Most of those who spoke at the event called on the people of the state to shun the planned national protest against the president and support the administration to succeed in its quest to transform the country.
