ADAC hails Abia govt on establishment of disability commission

The Advocacy for Disability Act cluster (ADAC) has lauded Abia Government on the establishment of Abia State Disability Commission.

The Executive Director-Inclusive Friends Association and ADAC Cluster Anchor, Grace Jerry while applauding the development said precisely three months after the commitment of the executive governor, the establishment of the disability Commission in Abia State became a reality.

She said the Advocacy for Disability Act cluster rejoice with the community of persons with disability over the establishment of the Disability Commission in the state and especially the Executive Director El-New Hope Foundation who is the Cluster member of ADAC in Abia State upon his appointment as the Abia State Disability Commission Chairman.

She further called on all agencies of government in Abia state to support the board by playing their roles, and the media agencies in the creation of information to the public.

According to her, it calls for unison within the Disability community in the state and call on the 8 Assembly in Abia State for adequate budget provision and support.

Grace also appreciated the Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE) implemented by Palladium with support from the USAID.
