‘ABU produced 23 young professors last year’

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, produced 23 young professors in various fields, last year.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha, disclosed this at an Inaugural Lecture entitled “Economics: A Discipline in Need of a New Foundation” delivered by an Economics guru, Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu Garba, at the university’s Assembly Hall, yesterday.
He said with increased number of young and sound professors, there would be more intellectual lectures in various fields of researches.

Mustapha, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Ibrahim Na-Iya Sada, said the intellectual lecture was primarily designed to bring professors together to share their research findings with other scholars within the university.

“I want to assure you that the intellectual lecture will continue for the university is very much committed to researches,” he said.
Mustapha, therefore, called on the university community, especially the scholars, to always attend the lectures.

Earlier, Garba thanked the vice-chancellor for bringing back the yearly tradition of intellectual lectures.
He noted that the lecture would was platform of sharing researches amongst the professors in their various fields.
Garba appreciated other professors in the Department of Economics for their cooperation and support during the research.
