AbdulRazaq, monarch commiserate with Olofa over mother’s death

Kwara state governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari, have commiserated with the Olofa of Offa Kingdom, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, on the passing of his mother, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi.

The king’s mother died Sunday at the age of 94, according to a statement from the Olofa’s palace.

The governor, who paid a condolence visit to the first class monarch at his palace, urged him to be comforted by the rare grace of Allah on Alhaja for a fulfilling life and the joy of being a major chapter in the community’s story.

Earlier, the governor had through his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, conveyed the condolences of the people and government of the state to the monarch and the people of Offa on this development.

“Our heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with His Royal Majesty at this difficult moment. We urge His Royal Majesty to be comforted by the rare grace of Allah on Alhaja for a fulfilling life, the joy of being a major chapter in the community’s story, and the happiness of seeing his children become success stories and also outliving her,” according to the governor. 

“We ask Allah to ease her account, widen and lighten up her grave, and grant her Al-jannah Firdaus,” the statement added.

Similarly, Sulu-Gambari, in a condolence message issued on Sunday by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, said: “The incident, although, saddened but accepted in total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.”

The Emir who extended the heartfelt condolences of the entire members of the Kwara state Traditional Rulers Council to His Royal Majesty, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, urged him to be strong, adding that, “Our hearts and prayers are with you at this auspicious moment.”
