Kano Pillars has suspended Technical Adviser Usman Sheriff Abdallah for three weeks following the team’s underwhelming performance and his controversial reaction toward fans after a goalless draw against Bayelsa United on NPFL25 Matchday 22.
A statement by the club on Sunday, 2nd of February, 2025 expressed concerns over the team’s inconsistent form, having secured just one win in their last three matches.
The statement also announced club legend and Chief Coach, Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro to take charge.
The statement reads partly: “Sai Masu Gida have struggled to find consistency in recent matches, securing only one win in their last three outings. This dip in form has raised concerns among the management and supporters, who expect a higher level of performance from the team.
“Following the draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Usman’s gesture towards the fans was deemed inappropriate by the management, leading to the disciplinary action. The club remains committed to maintaining professionalism and fostering a respectful relationship between the team and its passionate supporters.
“In the interim, club legend and Chief Coach, Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro, will take charge of the technical team. He will be supported by assistant coaches Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa as they work to stabilize the squad and improve results.
“The Pyramid City side will now shift focus to their upcoming NPFL25 Matchday 23 fixture against Remo Stars in Ikenne, a crucial away encounter where they will look to bounce back and restore confidence.
