rchers’ rA one-day reseataining on building bridges to end gender-based violence and increase young people’s access to sexual and reproductive health information and services (SRHR) has ended in Awka, Anambra state capital.
Coalition of Eastern Non-governmental Organisations (CENGOs) is made up of NGOs that work on different thematic areas but with one central goal of making our society better.
It exists in the five states of the South-east and in four South-south states of Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa collaborates with CIRDDOC and Amplify Change to bring on the training.
The project consultant, Prof. Josephine Odey, said the training, “which includes tips on research ethics, objective and background of the research, socio-demographic data, knowledge of and access to sexual and reproductive health services, sexual health attitudes and behaviour and legal frameworks, will equipped the participant for the work ahead.”
Also speaking, its Anambra state Deputy Coordinator, Barr. Iruka Nwokedi, said the project building bridges to end gender-based violence and increase young people’s access to sexual and reproductive health information and services, was being funded by Amplify Change, adding that the grant was secured by Civil Resources Development and Documentation Centre (CRDDC) under the leadership of Barr. Oby Nwankwo.
Nwokedi also said the training was the heartbeat of the project “because it will enable participants to work with evidence at all levels of the entire project.”
Earlier, in his speech, the National Programme Officer, Mr. Edwin Usang, remarked that the project existed in the six states of Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu, Cross River and Rivers.
According to him, the project which has many components of which the researcher training is one.
