Adamawa: Arabic school marks graduation with tree-planting

A private school, At-Tarteel Junior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Jada, Adamawa state, over the weekend, marked its speech and price giving day with tree planting to tackle climate change.

Speaking at the event, chairman of the school Governing Board, Dr. Ibrahim Jungur, said the school was established 10 years ago to provide both Islamic and western education to give sound education to children and tackle the challenges of out of school children in the area.

He further noted that, since its establishment the school has been performing wonderfully, especially in the areas of sound education, good behaviour and moral rectitude, which continues to attract parents and guardians in sending their wards to the school for proper upbringing.

According to him, the school had offered free education to 33 orphans  up to SSCE level, and currently has other orphans studying in the college in addition to giving opportunity to other vulnerable children between the ages of 6 and12 with over 30 others securing admission into tertiary institutions within and outside the state.

Also speaking, the chairman Jada local government area of the state, Hon. Mohammed Salihu So’o, represented by his deputy, Hannatu Jaret, commended the institution for its academic excellence and embracing the environmental policies of the Adamu Fintiri administration.
