Chairman/Publisher Blueprint Newspapers Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi has advised her daughter, Arch. Thurayya Mohammed Idris, to allow the fear of God and the training she had from both parents guide her marital life.

Malagi spoke during an elaborate wedding fatiha of Thurayya, who got married to Engr. Fahad Isa Kaita in Kaduna Saturday.

The programme was coordinated by Chief Imam Unguwar Rimi Central Mosque Malam Khalid Suleiman.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event held at the Yahaya Road Mosque Ungwan Rimi, the Blueprint publisher expressed his sense of fulfilment bringing up a child to the level of giving her out in marriage.

Malagi, a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger state, urged the couple to be fair to each other in their dealings to warrant needless frictions.

“As a parent, it feels very good. I feel happy, I feel great. I feel accomplished. This is a moment that every parent wants to go through. It feels like only yesterday that these children were born, now they have become adults and she brought home a husband to get married to. She has benefited from fine upbringing, I pray she utilises the upbringing in her new home.

“My advice to them is to love themselves, be fair to themselves, fear God, they should be patient, they should go slowly and by the grace of God, their destination is in sight. For parents who are approaching this stage, they should be steadfast as they look forward to giving out their daughter or getting their son married. It is a joyous moment of parenthood,” counselled Malagi who is also the owner of We FM, an Abuja-based radio station.

In a similar admonition, the immediate past governor of Niger state, Ambassador Musa Ahmed Ibeto, described the  occasion as a day of prayers and giving thanks to Almighty God.

“I’m here to attend the wedding fathia of the daughter of my brother, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi. It is an able father that Allah blesses with a daughter and gives him the wherewithal to train her up to a stage where he would give her out in marriage.

“It is a day of prayer and a day of giving thanks and glory to Allah for making the day possible. I will like to advise the couple to consider this marriage as an act of ibadah (worship) and every Ibadah has its rules and regulations, and if they follow the laid down rules and regulations, Allah will bless the marriage and make it a Toyeeb (Pure) for the couple that would grant them Aljannah. So we pray to Allah to bless this couple with children that they also would train and marry them out one day,” the former envoy said.

In a similar advice, a friend to the bride’s father, Alhaji Bashir Chedi said: “We are most grateful. Today is a turning point in the lives of our families. A friend giving out her daughter is a great thing to always remember and to be grateful to God for. God endowed us with a daughter, we trained her through moral and conventional education. She has exhibited full knowledge and practice of what she has been taught.”

The event was witnessed by top dignitaries drawn from the government, royalty, media/PPR industry  and political circles among others.

Some of the dignitaries at the event were Niger state Deputy Governor Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, Etsu Nupe represented by District Head of Edokota/Baraya Nupe Alhaji Kpotun Shaba, the governor’s chief of staff, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Kagara, former Military Administrator of Borno and Katsina states and former Nigeria Football Association Chairman, Col.
