The chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has assured of his administration’s readiness to embark on drugs revolving scheme as steps to make medical health facilities more accessible to the people.
He said making provision for residents to have access to health care services had been one of his administration top priorities, which he said good health could guarantee meaningful development in life.
Ajiya gave the assurance, while commissioning the newly completed primary health center at Unguwar Manko, central ward of the council.
He said the drugs revolving scheme, would cover all the rural clinics in 10 wards of the council with a plan of giving to patients at a subsidise rate.
The chairman noted that the construction of the clinic at Central ward was indeed a long awaiting moment to the residents of the area, saying the central ward is prune to any success of the council.
“We want to make this clinic a testing ground because the council will embark on reviving the drugs revolving scheme across all the rural clinics in Abaji” he said.
Also, the chairman of traditional council in FCT and Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, commended the council chairman for his efforts to ensuring that health care services were given priority attention.
He requested the administration of Abaji Council to provide a resident doctor, two nurses and a health attendant that would be Manning the clinic in order to ensure effective services at the clinic.
“All hands must also be on deck to protect the equipment in this clinic, as we may be aware of the resources spent to put this clinic to this standard. So we must join hands to safeguard everything in the clinic for posterity to judge us”.
