A thirty-eight year old Engr Yakubu Danlad-Salihu was Tuesday reelected as the speaker, 10th legislature of Kwara state House of Assembly.
Salihu was unanimously reelected following a motion for his nomination as speaker by member representing Kaiama-Kemaji-Wajibe constituency, Abdullahi Halidu Danbaba and seconded by Fatimah Arinola Lawal, representing Ilorin-East
Similarly, Emmanuel Ojo Oyebode of Oke-Ogun Constituency also elected as deputy speaker of House unopposed.
The inauguration of the 10th assembly was superintended by the Clerk of the House, Hajia Hameedah Jummai Kperogi at the hallowed chamber of the House in Ilorin the state capital.
The 10th legislature of Kwara state house of assembly was inaugurated amidst mammoth crowd in Ilorin, following issuance of proclamation by governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in compliance with section 105, subsection (3) of the constitution as amended
Out of the 24 members, only one was elected under the platform of PDP while five are women.
Eight of the members sworn in were re-elected while 16 are new members.
