The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received a total of 343 Internally Displaced Persons living in a transit camp in Mubi as they have now been relocated to the Malkohi camp in Yola, Adamawa state.
Officials of Yola operations office of NEMA led by the Assistant Coordinator Anuhu Midala received the IDPs who were screened by security operatives and profiled by NEMA officers. On arrival, they were given basic orientation and provided with meals and later given basic supplies that include sleeping items and soaps.
The Assistant Coordinator of NEMA Yola Operations office Mr Anuhu Midala advised them to cooperate with the camp managers to assist them and be law abiding.
The transit camp in Mubi has been used as the receiving point for displaced Nigerians that fled to the Republic of Cameroun. There are presently four official camps for IDPs in Yola, among which is the Malkohi were the Adamawa State Governor Muhammed Jibrilla Bindow led his deputy and commissioners to celebrate the last sallah with them.
