3 die, 4 injured in Osun crash 

Three persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred at Aagba in Boripe local government area of Osun state, Sunday.

Findings showed that the accident which involved a Toyota Camry and a motorcycle with registration number AKD 810 QX, occurred opposite Aagba Palace around 2:50 pm.

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed that the three persons on the motorcycle died on the spot.

An eyewitness told Blueprint correspondent that the car belonged to a popular man called ‘Baba Kekere’ whose registration number was immediately removed after the incident and ran away.

Similarly, four persons sustained various degrees of injury in an accident that occurred at Sekona in Ede South along the Osogbo-Gbongan expressway around 7:55 am, Sunday.

The accident involved a Toyota Hummer bus with registration number LAGOS, AGL 664 BH conveying 19 passengers and a Fiat van with registration number KATSINA, MLF 304 XA, carrying three passengers.

According to an eyewitness, Bukola Abiodun, the accident was caused by the Toyota Hummer bus which left its track and had a head-on collision with the coming vehicle.

“It was discovered that the Toyota Hummer bus driver was sleeping while at high speed,” the eyewitness said.

The Commandant of the NSCDC in the state, Dr Michael Adaralewa, expressed concern over incessant cases of accidents and advised members of the public to avoid reckless driving.
