3 companies to feed pilgrims in Madina – NAHCON

The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) has stated that it is in contract with three companies to cater for the feeding of pilgrims during the eight days they are expected to spend in Madina before proceeding to Mecca.
Madina’s Head of Feeding Committee, Bashir Jazuli stated this yesterday after taking journalists through the facilities and mealmaking processes of one of the companies, Alandalus Company for Catering.
According to him, the companies are being routinely supervised by members of the feeding committee to make sure the contractors abide by contract specifications.
He said: “It is a daily routine for us members of the feeding committee to make sure that contractors keep to specifications as well as safety standards.
As you can see, they are wearing their gloves, aprons, and the environment is neat and tidy.
And on the issue of packaging, we come here daily to ensure that the quality and quantity of the meals are not compromised.
In addition, we always check all the products to make sure that expired ones are not used.” Jazuli reiterated that pilgrims are entitled to breakfast and dinner daily.
According to him “We have high consideration for time.
For breakfast, we ensure that it reaches their respective hotels by 6:00 PM, while we ensure that dinner reaches their hotels by 8:00 PM.
Speaking earlier, Deputy Manager of Alandalus Company for Catering, Luftee Kaseem, said the company had no reason not to meet up with the terms of the contract.
He stressed that the company has been in a robust relationship with Nigeria for four years adding that “Alandalus has state-of-the-art facilities and robust staff strength that ensures efficient servicedelivery”, Kaseem said.
