As part of activities to mark creation of Yobe state from the former Borno state on August 27, 1991, the state government held prayer session for sustenance of peace.
The event which took place at Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre on Wednesday, had in attendance the state governor, Mai Mala Buni, and his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, among other government functionaries.
Governor Buni, said if there was anything that the country need at the moment, it is prayer to overcome the challenges of insecurity, among others.
He called on the clerics to always put his administration in prayers so as to have the grace of fulfilling his campaign promises made to electorates.
There were over 17 clerics drawn across the state for the prayers.
