A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara state, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has canvassed the need for politics without bitterness among politicians regardless of their political inclinations come 2027.

Dr. Shinkafi stated this on Thursday in an interview with journalists in Gusau.

Shinkafi, a former national secretary of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) made the remarks when he honoured the invitation by Zamfara state government to commission projects executed by Governor Dauda Lawal.

He said government was a continued process, noting that he honoured the invitation by Zamfara governor to witness the commissioning projects by the former governor of Abia state Senator Orji Uzo Kalu and former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in good faith.

“As APC ascribe to the state, I don’t see anything wrong for my honouring the invitation by Governor Lawal for commissioning projects that have direct impact to the people of the state”, Shinkafi stated.

Dr. Shinkafi stated that the physical transformation under governor Dauda Lawal ‘s administration in the state was highly overwhelming and commendable.

He reaffirmed his membership of APC contrary to the speculation making the round that he was planning to defect to PDP in the state.

“I am still a card carrying member of APC and I will remain in APC and anytime Governor Dauda Lawal invites me, I will honour his invitation”, Shinkafi stated.

He further maintained that, politics with antagonisms among politicians could only lead to crisis and failure of any political party come 2027 in the state.

He urged all political parties, particularly APC, PDP to shun any forms of politics with antagonisms to enable development in the state and progress of the two strong political parties in the next election.

Shinkafi pointed out that the level of transformation of the state with infrastructural development in all the socioeconomic sectors under Governor Dauda Lawal within his two years in office has changed the narrative and commendable.

He lamented how the previous leaders neglected to transform the state for over two decades a situation, which put the state as the most neglected state in terms socioeconomic growth and development.

“The previous administrations have inveted people in abject poverty through sharing them money and syphoning public funds rather than developing Zamfara state but Governor Dauda Lawal has changed the narratives and put Zamfara in the right direction democratically.

Shinkafi stated that if governor Dauda Lawal would continue with good governance in the state, any political party compete with him can only waste its resources come 2027.

He urged Governor Dauda not to be distracted by any politician and to adhere with the good work for the progress of the state and his success in the next general election.
