The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has declared its strong support for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, describing him as a transformational leader and the best lawmaker from the zone since the return of democracy in 1999.

In a statement signed by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Okey Nwaoru, COSEYL said the recent attacks against the former Abia State governor were politically motivated attempts to undermine his growing influence within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group noted that Kalu’s achievements in legislative representation, infrastructural projects, and empowerment programmes have earned him overwhelming grassroots support, which it predicts will translate into 95 percent votes for him and the APC in the 2027 general elections.

“Senator Kalu is a beacon of hope for Abia North. His passion for service, accessibility to the people, and proactive approach to governance have transformed the socio-economic landscape of the district. The people are grateful for his leadership and will demonstrate it at the polls,” the statement read.

COSEYL also expressed confidence that Abia North voters would extend their support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the “synergy and transformative leadership” both men represent under the APC.

The coalition dismissed criticisms against Kalu as “desperate attempts” to derail a proven leader, urging citizens and youths in the South East to rally behind him for continuity of progress.

“With Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, 2027 is a done deal. Abia North deserves sustained development, and this can only be achieved through results-oriented leadership,” the group added.
