A group, Nasarawa State Advocates for Peace and Patriotism, has challenged the State Transparency, Accountability, and Good Governance (NS-TA&G), to prove allegation of favoritism or compromise against the Nasarawa state Accountant General, Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed.

The Coordinator of the group, Abimiku Dangana Solomon, stated this on Monday, in Lafia.

“We challenge the NS-TA&G2 to provide evidence of alleged special favoritism or compromise in the  discharge of official responsibilities by the Accountant General.

Abimiku was responding to a recent statement by Mr Lazarus Salaki, coordinator of the NS-TA&G2 group.

Salaki had called for the resignation of Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, the Accountant General of Nasarawa state, citing alleged involvement in partisan politics while holding a sensitive office.

Abimiku said the group failed to cite constitutional provisions barring public office holders like the Accountant General from participating in partisan politics

“The Supreme Court of Nigeria has ruled that public office holders and civil servants have constitutional rights to participate in politics and belong to political parties.

“As a Nigerian, Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed has the right to participate in active politics. We urged the public to continue supporting him, and we call on him not to be distracted by those spreading disharmony, he said.

Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, Mr Peter Ahemba, had during a press conference on March 27, 2025, said the administration’s stance and the governor’s directive requiring all political appointees with political ambitions to resign.
