2027: Philanthropist Emmanuel Musa joins Adamawa governorship race

A businessman and philanthropist, Dr Emmanuel N. Musa, has declared interest in contesting the Adamawa state governorship election in 2027.

His Chief of Staff, Comrade Kukuya Godwin, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, saying the decision followed sustained calls from groups and individuals across the state.

“Without any iota of doubt, I can confirm that Dr Emmanuel N. Musa will be contesting the Adamawa governorship seat come 2027. This is in response to persistent calls by groups and individuals who believe in his capacity to reposition the state,” he said.

Musa, who is the founder of the Emnamu Foundation, is known for humanitarian interventions in education, health, and climate action, especially among displaced and vulnerable communities in the state.

Some of the initiatives credited to his foundation included the payment of medical bills for patients at the Specialist Hospital in Yola, financial support for small businesses, tree planting campaigns, and donations of logistics vehicles to remote communities.

When asked about the political platform he would run on, Kukuya said consultations were ongoing.

“Politics is dynamic. We are currently engaging with multiple parties and will make an informed decision in due course. But one thing is clear, he will contest,” he said.
