The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied a widely circulated report claiming that it has granted automatic tickets to all its current National Assembly members for the upcoming 2027 elections.
The trending report claimed all legislators on the platform of the APC, including those who recently joined the party will enjoy automatica ticket to recoontest in 2027.
But in an official press statement released Tuesday in Abuja, by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party described the report—tagged “APC Grants Automatic Tickets to All National Assembly Members”—as entirely false.
“The report is fake news and should be disregarded in its entirety as it did not emanate from our great Party. “
Morka further urged both party members and the general public to ignore the claims, emphasizing their lack of credibility. “We urge all Party members and the general public to disregard the report as FAKE and of mischievous origin,” he said.
The APC’s statement comes amid growing political activity in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
“No such decision has been taken,” an APC official familiar with the matter added off the record, reinforcing the party’s stance.
The party maintained that any updates regarding candidate selection or primary processes would be communicated through official and verifiable channels.
